Bit of a result this, knowing us we'll go back in for him when he leaves West Brom in 2 years...........
Or sign him now anyway.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Joker - That's possible, but my hunch is it's unlikely. We received no bids for him in the summer ith just a year left on his contract and no bids for him this month, so that tells me that no club is breaking their necks to get him. As far as being 'non commital' is concerened, isn't the reason he hasn't signed is because we haven't offered him enough dough, in his eyes anyway?

Is that right? Just an international thing? If so I stand corrected.

Not in England he can't.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
They can make him offers now. He can even sign a pre-contract with another club.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
PD,

We have no idea what other PL clubs may offer him as they aren't allowed to make any offers until the end of his contract. The more likely scenario is he has been given 'off the record' offers more than ours, hence his non-committal.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
No, you don't give him what 'he wants' you give him what you believe he is worth. And considering nobody else seemingly wants Reid, I'd say our owners have got it just about right.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Maybe now this has fallen through we can give Reid what he wants and hopefully when we get shot of Nolan and JOB we can use that on someone worthwhile. Also at the end of the season we need to find £20m for song and jenkinson so need all the money we can save

It all makes far too much sense to be true, so lets look at a conspiracy of outlandish proportion

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
How are we getting a rift between Allardyce and Sullivan from that one line Allardyce quote?

It seems clear that he failed the medical for a permanent move, West Ham instead looked to loan him and that negotiations over that loan broke down.

Of course, this theory has the disadvantage that it is pretty much consistent with what everyone has actually said. It lacks the assumption that everyone involved is lying.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
Where exactly is there a report that there has been disagreement between the board and manager?

Really not sure about all of this

On what basis did Fletcher arrive at the cliub, if he did, as reported by LVG? Medical or to talk terms? And, if the board did not want or would not sanction the move, wht did that happen and upon whose bidding?

Was Noble actually offered for sale? If so how can that happen without board approval?

Some very strange things going on for sure, clearly suggests something awray but not sure it demonstrates a further rift between board and BFS

Trying to dodge the crass alusiions to shit (which sums up this thread) I can only guess he failed his medical.

Re: Darren Fletcher - Failed medical allegedly
You realise there must be a rift between Noble and Allardyce/Nolan now, which I doubt can be healed.

Nobes was the fall guy to be disposed of with the arrival of Fletcher. Now that master plan has failed, what now?

We MUST dispose of Allardyce/Nolan in May. It's the only logical solution now Sullivan has seen through the fatman at last.

"Thank fuck the walrus played little part in our summer recruitment as we'd be relegated already..."

Not sure about that, but without Sakhos goals, who he didn't really want/fancy then we'd be bottom half for sure.
